I can no longer hide it

This is a very true story.

Yesterday I was asked if I would be attending YOUTH camp. Although I am very flattered that someone would consider my attendance, I am quite certain I am above the age limit.

Is granny allowed in?

“Just don’t tell them your age,” they said.  Ha!

First, I will not lie… but for the purposes of this blog post, let’s say I did.  I have been told many times I look younger than I am. In fact, when I tell people my age they are shocked. (sometimes they oversell, but tbh I kind of like it) So perhaps, I would get away with not declaring my real age.

AND Let’s just say that I did that and got away with it.  Need we be reminded that I also have children!  Really cute children too.

“Don’t tell them you have kids?” they said.

I guess.  I mean people already think I am younger than I actually am. So I guess they could believe that.  but ... only if I did not have a real conversation with anyone.  BECAUSE once anyone had a real conversation with me they would totally know I was a mother. I CAN NO LONGER HIDE IT. Not that I want to. But IF I did, I definitely could not.  It is written on my face.  You can see it in my facial expressions. You can hear it my tone of voice. You can tell, just by how I look around.  Matter of fact, the other day Pastor called me the “mother of the youth”.   And to be honest, I didn't mind the title... I can be, but only if I'm allowed to discipline those hooligans. hehe.

So here are things I have done that are a prime example of my motherhood-ness:
  • Fill my Instagram with pictures of my boys. (This is major)
  • Cry... when I have seen an older mother with older boys because that will be me in the future.
  • Touch my heart when I hear a teenager/young-adult talk about struggles.  That may be my child one day.  (Does anyone else do this?)
  • The "mom-look"... at anyone who I feel proud of.
  • The death stare.

AND some things I have said to people who are not my children:
  • “Let her smack herself in the face.  That’s the only way she will learn!”  speaking figuratively, of course.
  • “Don’t even think about it...” with the pointing finger of course.
  • “Please and thank you!”  to someone who obviously forgot their manners at home.
  • “When I was younger…”  or “In my time…”  I feel like I do this a lot, and also I might be feeling older than I actually am.
  • “Please don’t do that…”  “Please don’t touch that...”   all said with that mom tone.  I can’t control it.
  • “You don’t need it, you want it!”  Not that it’s any of my business. I’m aware of that, that’s why it’s followed with… “get it!” Lol.
  • “These kids are crazy.”
  • "You're too young to date.  Do you have a job? a car?"
  • “Hey!” followed by the death stare.

That's all I can think of right now.  I'm sure there is more.

"You can be a Den Mother," They said.  I want to be a camper... Therefore, I will not be going to youth camp.

Sorry.

What are some things that you say that are motherly?
Or maybe things your mom says to you?

33 weeks and a cray-crave

blogDSC_1298Today I am 33 weeks.  It has been quite a journey up to until now, but I'm very excited that we are getting closer to meeting our little Jason.

Something very different to my first pregnancy has happened. A cray-crave, I call it. A crazy craving.
This is something that really didn't happen in my first pregnancy. With the exception for that one
time that I mentioned to my sister in law that I wanted a Spicy Chicken from Wendy's and she went out of her way to get it for me.  Yep, she's a sweetie. (There is a whole other side of that girl, that you don't know about)

Well it so happens that my lovely sister Mary, posted a picture on Instagram.  It was a picture of her and her gal pals enjoying a Pumpkin Spice Latte.  Yes, a PSL!! I kid you not when I tell you that my mouth watered, and ever since then (since Sunday) I have been dying for a PSL.  So If you will excuse me, I am about to embark on a journey to fulfill my greatest craving.

Don't judge me.

Let's Pretend, or not.

blogstairs

This week, I turned 30 weeks pregnant.  30!! where has the time gone?  How do I feel? Well...
Let's pretend I feel as put together as I look in these photographs.
Let's pretend I'm totally ready for Jason to arrive.
Let's not pretend that I was freaking out this week, and my sister in law had to give me a pep talk.
Let's not pretend I completely forgot what I need to pack in my hospital bag.
Let's  pretend I am mentally prepared to go through the process of giving birth again.

Or... let's not, I mean, can you ever REALLY be prepared for a new baby?

On the Perfect Day...

blogmom
I wake up feeling great with energy.
I know what I want for breakfast, and I find all the ingredients in my fridge.
Benjamin eat's all his breakfast.
I am cool and refreshed all day long.
Laundry was done yesterday.
My hair is not a frizz ball.
Benjamin is happy all day long.
My house is still clean from yesterday.
I find something cute and comfortable to wear.
There is absolutely no need to try and bend over for any reason at all.
I take a nap.
Grocery shopping was done yesterday.
Dinner is delivered to the door.
I go to church.
My husband offers to give me a foot massage.
My child requests bath time and bed time.
I knock out when my head hits the pillow.

Baby Jay doesn't decide practice karate in my belly at three in the morning.

So... One day?
What would your perfect day be like?

Right before the move

Dress: Forever21,   Top: H&M,   Shoes: Aldo,  Bag: Danier   Sunglasses: Forever21

We moved. We need more space now that we will be a family of four. Before the dreaded process, however, I took my little man out for a celebration. "Mom, i would like a coffee, and a cookie, please" he requested. It's not coffee, it's hot chocolate. He calls it coffee because it looks like the one mama drinks. I said to him "go sit down and I will bring it to you", he did so very obediently, and chose a small round table for two.

So there we were just him and me chit chatting. He was telling about all his friends, and why they were his friends, and very few selected best friends, besides his mom and dad, of course. He then pointed out the bird across the street, and explained to me how it was trying to find something to eat. If you know my son, you know that he is a chatterbox.

After he was done chatting, He looked at me and said "mom, we should go", and while he packed his cookie he stated "This is for my brother."

I'm not really sure when this growing up happened, but it makes me a little bit more confident that Benjamin is going to be an excellent brother, and the quite the photographer, as he took all the photographs of me. (with a little instruction, of course)

EShakti

So, Have you heard of Eshakti?

I received this perfect little black dress from them. The quality is amazing, and shipping was great!  I love this dress. It even has pockets. I love anything with pockets.

This site is great. Especially for us gals who love modesty.  It's awesome because with every item they sell, you have the option to customize it. You can customize sleeve length, neckline, and skirt length.  Isn't that wonderful?  Well guess what else, the kind people over at Eshakti have been kind enought to offer this blog's readers 10% from their site. Simply use the promotion Code "EverydayToUs"!  (Offer Valid through April 5, 2015)

This is how I would style it casually. Basically I wanted to put something together for a day out like today.  Since it's finally warming up, all the snow is melting.  There is huge puddles EVERYWHERE.  I totally loves this because that is when the rain boots call my name!!

Thankful & Honored

I am thankful.  I am thankful for all the wonderful blessings that God has bestowed upon me. A wonderful husband.  A marvelous little boy.  Two of the best families united by marriage, and getting bigger as the years go by.   A Holy spirit filled, sanctified, worshiping, Jesus Name church.  I am thankful for that great salvation that was obtained through the sacrifice that Jesus made.

I am  Honored. A girl who was so quiet that people thought she was mute.  Yes that was me.  What God saw in me then? I will never know but, I do know that he saw something in me that nobody else did. Now here I am. honored.  Honored that he chose me to carry the torch. I am Honored to know that He lives inside of me, and that I am chosen to Reflect his Glory.
